Hello!

I'm a mixed media artist that creates primarily using dots (pointillism/ stippling). Much of the work I create is influenced and inspired by: music, my personal cultural identity, pop culture, and much more. The use of dots in my creations was from stumbling across acrylic paint markers and experimenting with them. The stippling became sort of a Zen-meditative feeling especially after long, stressful days at work and train rides during my residence in Japan. Being able to showcase my work in several art events recently has been a big highlight of my art life and the people whom I was able to connect with.

Currently, my art has shifted toward digital design utilizing mainstream tools to create. Many of the works incorporate Animation or Motion Design, which has been a particular interest of mine for a long time. However, I am continuously exploring new mediums and skills along the way. All About Motion

Need an animation? Whether it be a simple GIF for social media or a logo in motion, there's a design for you! My Flow

Illustrator has been the bread and butter for most of my work. In some cases sketches on paper are brought in then redrawn or built out however the design itself is fleshed out from scratch. For animations and motion graphics, the design is separated into individual layers for ease, especially for character animation/rigging which is an essential step.

Elements created in Illustrator are brought in and animating begins. Every keyframe and element is meticulously placed to ensure that smooth movement. After Effects has enabled much of my designs to be pushed further than ever before. This phase also represents the last stage or stages of the overall design.

I was honored to be asked to illustrate and collaborate with Krysada Phounsiri who also goes by his B-Boy name, "Lancer." I got to learn more about Krysada through the years in the dance community and from a unique meeting while in Tokyo Japan. From there, ideas and creativity were being set in place for a future collaboration that resulted as part of his second book. In his 2nd poetry book "Every Passing Minute," Krysada continues his dance through time and the relationships with various elements in regards to Laos and its' culture.

When brainstorming about designs, one of the things that Krysada really liked was my use of dots or "Pointillism" and how might this particular style apply to the vision. From the beginning, the dandelion was an important focal point and metaphor for the historical aspects as well as being symbolic for time. In one view, the dandelion seeds are being blown away and in another the bombs are falling down on a country devastated by the Vietnam War. It was really important for me to convey a certain tone and mood and a way to understand culturally. In the end, having had the opportunity to collaborate with Krysada and be part of the journey is something I hold in high regard.

Dot Art Overview

The Dot Art in this section represents a unique time in my life. It has served as a way to meditate, heal, and explore different techniques. The artwork featured in this gallery spans from 2017-Present. Since the beginning, the art has been very meditative, especially during my downtime while living abroad in Japan. I partially attribute this process to Japanese Zen Buddhism.
